Graduates Information

Congratulations, Class of 2021, on accomplishing your academic goals. Even though the response to the COVID-19 outbreak has affected plans for Commencement, the University is dedicated to honoring you and recognizing your achievements.

Based on the feedback you provided, we are moving forward with hosting an in-person ceremony on Friday, May 7, 2021, in Greater Zion Stadium, dependent on all safety guidelines being in effect at that time.

There will be one ceremony combined with masters, baccalaureate, and associate graduates. The ceremony will be ticketed and all attendees will be required to wear a face covering.

Grad Fair:  Wednesday & Thursday, May 5 & 6, 2021 | 8 a.m.to 5 p.m.

Commencement Ceremony: Friday, May 7, 2021 | 8 a.m.

Information for the 110th Commencement Ceremony


The Dixie State University 110th Commencement Ceremony will take place on Friday, May 7, in Greater Zion Stadium on the DSU campus. The processional will begin at 8:00 a.m. and the ceremony will start immediately following the processional. There will be one ceremony combined with masters, baccalaureate and associate graduates.

Greater Zion Stadium Gates open: 7:00 a.m. Guests must be seated by 8 a.m.

Graduates Processional line-up: 7 a.m. at the Gardner Center Plaza

Processional Start time: 8 a.m. the ceremony will start directly following the processional.



2021 Spring graduates and graduates from the Summer of 2020 and Fall of 2020 who did not walk in the Winter Commencement Ceremony are invited to walk in the May ceremony.

Graduates from Spring of 2020, Fall 2019, and Summer of 2019 who previously indicated they would like to participate in the May 7th ceremony are also invited to participate.


Each graduate will be allotted six tickets for your guests. You will receive an email for you to claim your tickets. This email will be sent between April 6-9, 2021. For individuals who need more than six tickets, you will be able to place your name on a waiting list at that time through the reservation system. For attendees who do not need all six tickets, they can be placed back into a pool to be redistributed to individuals on the waiting list. Additional tickets are NOT guaranteed.

Graduates and faculty and staff who are participating in the ceremony do not need a ticket to attend. Anyone not participating in the ceremony must have a ticket to enter the stadium.

The number of tickets per graduate may change dependent on current COVID-19 guidelines.

Reserve your tickets


Graduates will assemble with their college no later than 7:15 a.m., north of the Gardner Student Center. All participants are required to wear their cap and gown. Tassels should be worn on the right side and will be moved to the left upon graduation. The processional will begin at 8:00 a.m.

A detailed line-up map according to your college will be posted at the bottom of this page. There will not be a rehearsal.

Your seating in Greater Zion Stadium is reserved. Graduates are to remain for the entire commencement ceremony and must remain seated except during the awarding of degrees.

Graduate Seating Accommodation for Students and Guests with Disabilities

Graduates and guests with disabilities attending Commencement can request accommodations through the Disability Resource Center by phone at 435-652-7516 (voice). Please give us reasonable prior notice to arrange the specific accommodations you may need. Reserved seating will be available for the hearing impaired. American Sign Language Interpreters will be available upon request.


All graduating students should attend the Grad Fair where they will receive their cap and gown, honors stole and cord, gifts, food, have the opportunity to purchase DSU memorabilia and join the DSU Alumni Association. The Grad Fair will be held at the Stephen & Marcia Wade Alumni House (across from the Trailblazer Stadium).

Graduates who are traveling in late may also pick-up their regalia on Friday, May 7; 6 a.m. – 7 a.m. in the Gardner Center

Honor Graduates
Honors regalia will be available for pick-up during the Grad Fair. Spring 2021 honors graduates are recognized based on their Fall 2020 GPA. Summer graduates are not eligible for honors until 2021 Commencement. Your transcript will reflect any honors you have earned based on your final GPA at graduation. College Receptions & Awards
Individual College receptions will be held depending on the college. Please check back for a schedule of commencement receptions


Dixie State University is excited to host the 109th commencement ceremony to celebrate our graduates. We have been given permission by the local Health Official to move forward with our ceremony as long as certain guidelines are followed. Please read and follow these guidelines carefully.


All attendees will be required to wear a face covering. A face covering must be worn for the entire ceremony. If guests or participants do not keep their face coverings on it will force us to stop the ceremony.


Ticketing will be used for contact tracing and ensure we can manage the venue capacity. A ticket will be required for guests to attend the ceremony.


Guests and graduates must maintain 6 foot social distancing while in lines and moving through the stadium.

Congregating at any point is not allowed.


If you are experiencing any symptoms related to COVID-19 please stay home and celebrate virtually through our live stream.

Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
Muscle or body aches
New loss of taste or smell
Sore throat
Congestion or runny nose
Nausea or vomiting
