The Dixie Commercialization Fund unites investors and entrepreneurs together in one of the nation's hottest economic climates — the City of St. George in Washington County, Utah. The DCF has $1 million in seed money and is actively seeking new investors, aiming to grow the fund to $100 million as individuals and institutions invest in Washington County innovators. In addition, the DCF assists innovators with existing businesses or new disruptive ideas and technologies. Through Dixie State University’s Innovation Plaza, innovators can receive assistance in securing patents, learn through offered commercialization modules, and secure funding and support to commercialize their goods and services. DSU's Innovation Plaza also welcomes those who want to be involved with, learn from, and help develop new start-ups. The ultimate goal of the fund is to create thriving new businesses in southern Utah, spur economic growth, provide high-paying jobs in Washington County, give back to Dixie State University, and offer solid returns to its investors.
