Office 365 Instructions

  • Training
    • What to do after being migrated to Office 365 Email.
    • In most cases with Office, use your DixieID@dixie.edu for your username or email address. (Your current email address will still be )
    • Mail.dixie.edu is not for Office365. Instead go to https://Outlook.dixie.edu or https://outlook.office365.com
  • Setting up Outlook on Windows for Office 365
    • Open Outlook if it isn’t already open, it will prompt you for credentials.
      • Enter your DixieID@dixie.edu for the username.
        • If it is your email address in the username field, click More Choices
        • Change your email address to your DixieID@dixie.edu
      • Enter your current password.
      • Click remember password check box if you don’t want to enter your password each time Outlook is opened.

  • Setting up Android for Office 365
    • Your device might be different, but should be similar
    • Open settings
    • Find cloud and accounts (it might be different on your phone, look for accounts)
      • Remove your email account from the phone
      • Once removed add a new account
      • Look for Microsoft active sync or Exchange
      • In the Email, type your DixieID@dixie.edu
      • Enter your password.
        • Normally this is all you have to do, but some phones require more settings
        • If it shows a server name enter, Outlook.office365.com
  • Setting up the Microsoft Outlook app for Office 365
    • Open the app
    • If you just downloaded it, it will ask for your email and password, enter your DixieID@dixie.edu and current password
    • If you had it setup before and are having problems, click the menu button
    • Click Settings
    • Click your Dixie.edu email account
    • Click Delete account
    • Click add account
    • Enter your DixieID@dixie.edu and current password.
  • Setting up your iPhone/Ipad for Office 365 email
    • Go to settings
    • Accounts
      • Remove your dixie.edu email account
      • Add new account, pick Exchange or active sync
      • Enter your DixieID@dixie.edu
      • Click next
      • Click log in
      • Enter your password
      • If it asks for more information
      • Under username, type your DixieID@dixie.edu
      • Under server, enter outlook.office365.com

  • Setting up Microsoft Outlook app for Office 365
    • Open the app

    • POP3 (we do not recommend using, disabled by default)

  • Mail.dixie.edu is not for Office365. Instead go to https://Outlook.dixie.edu or https://outlook.office365.com
