In light of the COVID-19 pandemic and increased requests for better clarity, policy, and procedure regarding how employees may be approved to work remotely, a formal policy to oversee the arrangements, approval process, allowances, etc. is being created with DSU Policy 326: Alternative Work Arrangements. This policy encompasses both short-term ("Flexible Work Arranagements") and long-term ("Remote Work Agreements") arrangements, as well as Temporary Work Adjustments, like what the University implemented during the global COVID-19 pandemic.

During the public comment period, 12 comments were received on both the policy and associated form drafts. The current versions of the policy incorporate the changes made during the public comment, as well as the formal legal review.
