What I like most about being a Trailblazer: I really enjoy all the different activities there are on campus. There is always something to do. My favorite activity is the Comedian that we usually have.
Best part about being a Peer Mentor: My favorite part of being a Peer Mentor is meeting so many new people and hearing about what they want to accomplish while they are here at Dixie.



Krissia Beatty

Major: Human Communication
What I like most about being a Trailblazer: Meeting new people and seeing them around campus
Best part about being a Peer Mentor: I love seeing when students accomplish goals they have set for themselves and are proud of what they’re doing.



Kyle Cummings

Hometown: St. George, Utah
Major: Bio-Medicine/Pre-Med
What I like most about being a Trailblazer: The Dixie life and small classes with great teachers.
Best part about being a Peer Mentor: I believe that one of the biggest duties of the human race is to help and serve our fellow man in all we do. In my personal life, serving others has been the key to true happiness and a goal I work towards every day. As a Peer Mentor I have the privilege to help students push themselves, reach their goals, and achieve the success they desire.


Kimberly Gubler

Major: BS Music Education
What I like most about being a Trailblazer: I like all of the awesome activities we have on campus and how easy it is to get involved.
Best part about being a Peer Mentor: It’s great getting to know new students on a personal level and being there to help them through their first year of college.

Hometown: Salt Lake City, Utah
Major: Integrated Studies/Pre-Med
What I like most about being a Trailblazer: I like that we are like the pioneers. Dixie State University is going through so many changes that it’s just great seeing it grow and to feel like I’m being a part of the history here on campus.
Best part about being a Peer Mentor: The best part about being a Peer Mentor is getting to know all of the amazing people that I probably wouldn’t have been able to meet otherwise! Also, I really like helping people, even if it’s something as simple as asking someone about their day.


 


Sam Josey

Hometown: Apple Valley, Utah
Major: Accounting
What I like most about being a Trailblazer: I like the accessibility of the professors. I can always count on getting support from them. I also like the diverse events that are held on campus. There’s always something for everyone. The free food’s not bad either.
Best part about being a Peer Mentor: Building confidence, not only in my students, but in myself. Anyone can do anything they set their mind too, they just need someone to tell them that they can.

Major: Computer Information Technology with an emphasis in Digital Design
What I like most about being a Trailblazer: How as a school everyone is so welcoming of everyone and their diverse backgrounds.
Best part about being a Peer Mentor: The best part about being a Peer Mentor is getting the opportunity to help others and show them how rewarding their hard work and dedication can be.

What I like most about being a Trailblazer: I love the small class sizes and I like seeing friendly faces that I know around campus. Professors know me by name and really want to see me succeed.

Major: Integrated Studies: Marketing & Graphic Design Emphases
What I like most about being a Trailblazer: The best part for me are the memories I am making. The memories with friends, attending activities, getting involved, and becoming a part of something special. I love being at Dixie and I am so glad I made the venture down here to get my degree.
Best part about being a Peer Mentor: Best part about being a Peer Mentor: Being able to help students feel more comfortable in college. I love getting random texts asking questions and being able to encourage people to reach their goals.


Leah Romney

Hometown: Duck Creek Village, Utah
Major: Integrated Studies, emphases are ASL Interpreter and Communication studies.
What I like most about being a Trailblazer: I love all the opportunity to be involved and try new things. I love the professors and the students I get to meet. I have the Dixie Spirit and so I just love this school.
Best part about being a Peer Mentor: I love connecting to student and sharing my love for Dixie. I also love being able to answer questions that I had when I was a freshman and at the time had no idea how to answer.



Milton Williams

Hometown: Orderville, UT
Major: Communications
What I like most about being a Trailblazer: The name. It relates to me because I am exploring “new trails” in school and other aspects of life. It resonates with my sense of adventure.
Best part about being a Peer Mentor: The opportunity to be apart of their progress during this college experience. There is  a fantastic sense of satisfaction and accomplishment when working with others who have the same desire to learn and grow.  Gaining those solid relationships and being able to facilitate that growth makes it all worth it.
