Message from the Student Body President
Hey there! I’m so excited to be the first to welcome you to Dixie State University. I’m thrilled you chose Dixie as your destination for higher education. I’m Penny Mills, your Student Body President. I’m here to let you know a little bit about what makes Dixie so great and what it means to be a Trailblazer.
First off, we have a motto here at Dixie State which is “active learning, active life”. We stand by our belief that the more you get involved on and off campus, the greater your experience will be. Clubs, intramurals, Student Government, and student working opportunities are just a few examples of ways you can apply this mantra and take your learning to the next level. Make the most of your time here at Dixie State by getting involved which will allow you to broaden your horizons, expand your opportunities, and blaze a trail to your successful future.
Second, Dixie State University serves its community and students by offering the best education, experience, service, and tradition. In turn, we expect our faculty, staff, and students to uphold those same values by being examples and leaving a legacy for those who follow in their footsteps. This is what it means to be a Trailblazer: pursuing your goals and aspirations while helping others do the same. I believe as students we can always be doing more for ourselves and those around us, and as a result become a gold standard for what a unified D1 University looks like.
Lastly, I wanted to personally invite you all to come meet me; I want to hear from you! Please stop by my office on the second floor of the Gardner Student Center and let’s get to know each other over a box of Oreos and some peanut butter. I’m your advocate and I want to help you have the best experience possible! Blaze on Trailblazers!
Your Student Body President and friend,
Penny Mills– Student Body President
Riley Randall– VP of Academics
